Hmmm... required reading... I'd have to say the sci-fi ones "Farenheit 451", "1984", and "Brave New World". Also Catcher in the Rye, Great Gatsby, and The Jungle are superb books! :)

Sophie's World

Picture of Dorian Gray-- Oscar Wilde

The Awakening by Kate Chopin was absolutely awesome!
Tess of the D'urbervilles wasn't assigned for me, but is probably my favorite book of all time. umm..what else..
The Scarlet Letter
Silas Marner was cute, and an easy read

I'm reading Crime and Punishment for AP Lit right now..despite the length, it's not that bad...

picture of dorian gray is AMAZING. I read that for independent reading in AP and I adored it.

Required :
- Jane Eyre
- Antigone
- the Scarlet Letter
- Great Gatsby
- Macbeth
- Importance of Being Earnest (I would make love to Oscar Wilde if he was alive and not gay)

To Kill A Mockingbird, The Life of Pi, and Julius Casesar.

The House of the Spirits

The Color Purple (from reading list)

Crime and Punishment

I have really enjoyed these novels.

Edit: I forgot to add A Lesson Before Dying.

To Kill A Mockingbird, Macbeth, Jude The Obscure

Jane Eyre (suprisingly)
One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest
To Kill a Mockingbird

Cat in the Hat

Animal Farm is the best one, but The Great Gatsby is definitely up there

1984, Brave New World, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Tale of Two Cities...I think that's actually it for books assigned in class, though there are admittedly several other classic-era books I've read and liked outside of school.

Oh, and The Awakening, which I adore. Easily makes the "top ten favorite books ever" list.

The Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird, obviously.

I also enjoyed The Odyssey immensely.

The King Must Die (I have read most of the books, but always in the confines of the school year)

Where the Wild Things Are
Muppet Babies

I guess my favorite books out of class would be Breakfast at Tiffany's and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Other books read in class that I liked-
Of Mice and Men
The Great Gatsby
Julius Caesar
The Ousiders
The Diary of Anne Frank

Books I didn't like so much:
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
The Scarlet Letter
Ethan Frome
Romeo and Juliet

Catcher in the Rye (freshman), Animal Farm (8th grade), Great Gatsby (junior)

I liked Atticus Finch's closing statement in To Kill A Mockingbird...

yeah, and when Scout stands on Boo's porch and sees things his way.

Jane Eyre, 1984, Brave New World, Catch 22. Catch 22 made my head spin but I loved it
