Hey everybody-
I know that our housing selection is going to be random, but in a perfect world, which residential college would you pick to live in for your first two years at Princeton?

And for those who know the campus better, which residential college do you think has the best food/location/rooms/etc.?

I stayed in Butler for Admit Weekend, and what I heard is that Rocky and Mathy are nice and Wilson has a good location.

Anyways I would love to hear your thoughts.

Rocky and Mathy are definitely really pretty, and they've recently been renovated, so those are my top picks :) Plus, they're in a very central location.

Forbes also sounds kind of neat... kind of secluded, close-knit. Private bathrooms.

Don't know anything about wilson.

The one thing I heard from people is that Butler--"the butt"--is the least desireable. I guess that's just because it's the most modern. I did hear, though, that it has good food.

btw senioritis, congrats on choosing princeton! i'm also leaving the west coast, and although stanford was under consideration, i thought it'd be cool to have a new experience. Something like half of Stanford kids are from CA, so i don't think i'd have gotten much out of the experience, as opposed to a place like Princeton where students flock to from all over the country. I know we'll love it.

I had a ton of friends that I met at Stanford's admit weekend end up going to Stanford while all the kids I hung out with at Princeton are going other places...

Where else did you decide between? Where are you from? I am from the Seattle area

Butler was actually a lot better than people make it out to be. Sure, it does have some kind of weird looking buildings with waffle shaped ceilings in the rooms but even after three days there I didn't really notice it. I actually liked the layout of the floors and heard that the dining hall is pretty good.

Butler also seemed like it had a very diverse student population. I heard a rumor that they throw a lot of international students/minorities/west coast kids into Butler- I doubt its really true but the people I met were all very different and pretty chill.

Butler is supposedly the worst- it is pretty old and at the very bottom of campus- meaning you have to walk uphill to get anywhere. But if Butler really is the worst at Princeton, the other rcs must be pretty sweet cuz I actually liked Butler.

Well thanks for your op senioritis. I guess any of the dorms at Princeton would be loveable ;) - even the Butt. :D But what is this about Butler being the farthest off campus? I thought Forbes was the res col that was notoriously isolated...
