I’ve been on a DragonForce kick for some reason, which I haven’t been on since like 2008 haha. Mainly the song “Operation Ground and Pound.”

It’s upbeat power metal, what’s not to like?

Haha. So true. I totally miss the Backstreet Boys. But that song by One Direction is one of my favorites. It’s like the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. I then went on quite a panic when I saw their album in the store and they all looked really young, but at least one of them is older than me… so I feel better now. lol

Pffft. I still listen to the Backstreet Boys. I’m counting down until the next NKOTBSB tour.

And in regards to the young-ness of 1D ,I used to have this same thoughts about Justin Bieber. And he still looks like a baby, but “Boyfriend” is my jam.

I want to punch whoever wrote “Boyfriend” in the face with a set of brass knuckles. Good god.

In fact, anyone who writes songs that repeat “swag” over and over deserves a good hurtin’.

Oh, here’s another song I’ve been digging

<a href=“Pure Love - Bury My Bones - YouTube”>Pure Love - Bury My Bones - YouTube;

I have to amend my previous statement. Johnny Cash’s Hurt has been playing here a lot lately (like the last year or so). That has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. I get chills every time.

Ah. I totally love listening to Boyfriend.

It sounds like a boy band to me though. I think they realized that he can’t really sing right now since he’s hit puberty and his voice is changing (talk about a late bloomer!), so they just used a whole bunch of small clips to put together to make a song. At least, that’s my theory. I mean there’s no doubt the guy can sing, but his voice is definitely lower now.

@Romani have you heard the original one by Nine Inch Nails? I think Cash sounds better than Trent Reznor (on that song anyway) but for some reason I still like NIN’s more. I think it’s cos it’s part of a concept album.

TMS, yes I’ve heard the original. I had no idea it was a cover until a few years ago. But I still like Cash’s better. Mostly because it just fits him and his life so well.

I haven’t heard the whole NIN album though. I might think of it differently in context. Hmmm…

I bought two Backstreet Boys concerts on DVD last year. No kidding. lol. I’d love to see them live someday! I must admit I saw Spice Girls in 2008 and had the time of my life.

I agree about the One Direction song being SO SWEET!!! It’s nice to hear a boy singing about a girl and not going on about what a skank she is, or, you know, insert your derogatory term of choice.

For some reason now I have Hey Juliet stuck in my head. Anybody remember LMNT? I am pretty sure I only knew they existed because they played that video on nickelodeon.

In terms of more RECENT music!! I like Ed Sheeran, too. That’s a little less embarrassing I think? At least, I think it’s recent… I guess my British friend sent me that CD last summer sometime.

“I haven’t heard the whole NIN album though. I might think of it differently in context. Hmmm…”

It’s basically about a man’s struggle with depression and ultimate suicide. Really dark but powerful.

Ema, Ed Sheeran is wonderful. I’ve got a sweet spot for gingers though. Have you listened to Stereophonics? Most of my family is British so I get a lot of British music sent my way.

elliott smith - bottle up and explode or blink 182 - reckless abandon (:

Last Summer- Lostprophets
So This Is Goodbye (Pink Ganter Remix)- William Fitzsimmons

my favorite song right now is hell of a season by the black keys, anything black keys really

Good Intent - Kimbra
Cameo Lover - Kimbra (just got her cd, it’s great!)

For some reason I really love One Direction. maybe it’s the british factor, but I can’t resist singing along whenever they’re on the radio.

Fun - We Are Young.

Hands down my favorite song this summer. When I ask the girl I like out, I’ll sing her this song.

Also, Kimbra - Settle Down. Sparkles reminded me of her. Love it

Just discovered Ed Sheeran and I love that ginger!

But, good grief, I just heard two new Justin Bieber songs and… I love it! “Die In Your Arms” is so great. He’s such a good singer.

But I also really like Brighter than the Sun by Colbie Caillat. I saw her live last week in Pittsburgh and she’s amazing. She gets ten cool points for being adorable after being attacked by a swarm of bugs during her performance.

I was never a Bieber fan but i actually really like his newer stuff. My friends make fun of me for it, but… mehh.

Fall Out Boy - Thriller
Keane - A Bad Dream
W.A. Mozart - Requiem in D Minor K.626 1. Introitus

A wide range of musical tastes, I realize.

I concur.
