What kind of music does everyone like? Any favorite current songs? Artists? I'm into Jack Johnson right now, if you can't tell. :)

My favorite song of all time is Fleetwood Mac- Rhiannon, but it's doesn't fit my current mood. I'm a huge Stevie Nicks fan, and I also just love female lyricists in general if you can't tell by my playlist ;)

I am too a fan of Tori Amos, my fav song is "Sleeps with butterflies" at this moment, but it changes with my mood :D

Other Songs which I adore at this moment:

Sneaker Pimps - Wasted Early Sunday Morning
Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin - Je t'aime... moi non plus
Tori Amos and Leonard Cohen - Silent all these years
Joe Dassin and Dalida - Paroles, paroles, paroles

I am simply in love with Edith Piaf's voice and songs :), and with other French artists like Joe Dassin or Mirelle Mathieu, but I also listen to some punk-rock (?) like The Dresden Dolls (they have great funny lyrics, you should try it) or Jack off Jill.

Arcade Fire - Intervention

gub, we have very similar tastes in music! I think my three favorite current artists are Beirut, Camera Obscura and Of Montreal. Older artists I love are David Bowie and The Smiths. I also love musicals like Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd and South Pacific.

We definitely do! I love all of the artists you just mentioned. I actually saw Zach Condon from Beirut at this restaurant in Santa Fe one time. It was pretty cool.

Oh, yes. I definitely know how that is. I'll go through stages where I'll listen to We Get On over and over again and then Nicest Thing over and over again. Very easy songs to relate to.

hmm, playlist! I adore music - indie music probably saved my life - figuratively, of course.

has anyone heard of Asa (pronounced "Asha")? She's African-- Nigerian, I think, and I found her music when i was in France. Goooood stuff... you should check it out if you can!

I just listened to Kate Nash and Rilo Kiley and I loved it! It turns out I had already heard their songs on the radio but had never caught their names. Specifically, I had heard Rilo Kiley's song "Silver Lining".
