Favorite Sports

What sports do you guys watch/follow? Do you have favorite sports pro teams? Players?

I'm a basketball, soccer, and tennis fan, and I watch (though not religiously) football and baseball.

Lakers FTW, Real Madrid (Vamos Espa

Basketball- Nets
NFL- Chargers
Soccer- USA

that’s about it for me… + i love college basketball, but don’t have a favorite team. I am going to a D3 school

Premier League Football (i.e. Soccer): Arsenal and anyone playing Man U or Chelsea.

Rugby: England, All Blacks, Springboks.

MLB: Boston Red Sox

NFL: NE Patriots (“TheYank” used to live in Boston)

Baseball - Yankees, Favorite Players: Prince Fielder, Roy Halladay, Derek Jeter

Basketball - Knicks…Unfortunately, Favorite Players: David Lee, Kevin Garnett, Lebron James.

Football - Giants, Favorite Players: Justin Tuck, Darrelle Revis (Yeah, he’s on the Jets, So what?), Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald

Hockey - Rangers, Favorite Players: Zdeno Chara, Marian Gaborik, Jason Spezza, Corey Perry, Henrik Lundqvist

College Basketball - UNC, Favorite Players: John Wall, Evan Turner, Ryan Wittman, Gordon Hayward, Ed Davis, John Henson…

College Football - Boise State - Favorite Players: Dez Bryant, Ndamukong Suh, Mardy Gilyard, CJ Spiller, Noel Devine

@JW1212: Man, I feel bad for your Nets.

For all you college basketball fans (since I don’t really follow it), who’s better - John Wall or Evan Turner?

John Wall is more physically gifted and can make plays with his speed, but Evan Turner was national player of the year because he can do it all being 6’7, 6’8 and a Point Forward on Ohio State. John Wall WILL be drafted first because he has more physical upside, but Evan Turner is less careless. I think it’s mostly opinion.

thrill- thanks. The one game i went to this year we won!! it was against the kings without tyreke evans though, but it was still nice to see a win.

Watch out for us next year!

I also think Wall will get drafted first unless a team like the hornets get the #1 overall selection; CP3 and Collison are more than sufficient and i think they have some good 2 guard as well

LA Lakers. 'Nuff said.

so is Evan Turner kind of like a Tyreke Evans? More refined, but has a lower ceiling?

@JW1212: I think if LeBron bolts out of Cleveland he’ll go to New Jersey

@ladyjacket42: hell yeah Lakers!!!

^ Gasol needs to get over himself. Bashing Kobe is a big no no, especially since he basically got the Lakers to where they’re at.

I know, Kobe is pretty much THE Laker. I remember that time in 07 when he wanted to get traded and I was making up some trade possibilities in my head ahaha. And what’s up with Andrew Bynum, he’s like mega injury prone.

Only really follow soccer but I follow EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga & some MLS.

In order of interest:

College Hockey: UAA Seawolves
NBA: OKC Thunder
NHL West: Edmonton Oilers (ouch)
MLB: St. Louis Cardinals (since I was 3), but I respect Hideki Matsui
NHL East: Toronto Maple Leafs (double ouch)
College Basketball: meh, I just like watching it

I also love curling and watch it every Olympics.
Football is boring and makes me fall asleep.

You speak the truth. No one would even watch the Lakers if Kobe wasn’t playing. And Bynum is better than Gasol when he’s healthy, but it’s such a rare occurrence.

NFL: Carolina Panthers

^Ew, the panthers are garbage.

NFL: New England Patriots
NCAAF: UConn Huskies
NCAAB: I just watch, no favorite team.
MLB: Washington Nationals (I’m a new convert, first win today, yay!)
NHL: Hartford Whalers, but until they come back, I just watch games and pick a team to root for when I turn it on.

Thrill- no way in hell lebron goes to the nets. He wants a winning team- having said that, if he did come to the nets they would have a legit shot at a championship with harris, lopez, and lee + lebron and a high draft pick (prob wall or turner)

exactly, why would he go to New York? the Knicks are a bunch of scrubs. Plus the Nets are relocating to Brooklyn, so LeBron gets the “New York” edge in marketing [ remember he said his main goal is to be the first billionaire athlete] . Plus, with proper spending, the Nets can get another decent-good player. That’s a championship team right there.

So, it’s either Cavs or Nets [ depends on how they do in the playoffs ]

both the nets and the Knicks have no bench. Well the Knicks team is a bench essentially… and a championship team needs good players + sixth men, not just one sixth man, multiple.
