Favorite Spots / Things to Do at UVa

I saw this on the Michigan thread and thought I would start a UVa one - because we all know that Virginia is better than Michigan and Berkeley (just kidding, I think we are all great Universities)

Favorite place to eat: Little John's on the Corner

Best Looking Building: The Rotunda of course

Best Coffee: Greenberry's

Best Place to Study: Alderman Library

Best Dining Hall: Newcomb - but to be fair, none are really that good

Best Place to Be On a Saturday in Fall: Scott Stadium

Please feel free to add to the list.

Obviously the best place on a Saturday in the fall is a football game but how about the winter/spring?

How is the food??? I sure hope the dining halls are good because...

because...... you'll be stuck with them even if they're not? :)

i went with the unlimited. So bascically i have dedicated myself to the dining halls, should i have went with more plus dollars? uh-oh

I'm in the same boat as you, don't worry. We'll be ok, I'm sure.

I second Little John's as the best place to eat!

The Newcomb hall food was terrrible at orientation. Seriously.

... it wasn't gourmet, but I wouldn't call it terrible.. :/

I am a picky eater....but I got sick of the dining halls in about a month. I would suggest the 13 or 15 meal plan....that way you get about 2 meals a day, with lots of plus dollars if you ever feel like eating something else. The best meal, in my opinion that UVa dining serves is breakfast.

A lot of students get off the meal plan as soon as they can....I would suggest the 100 meal plan...but I think you have to wait until you are a second year or at least in your second semester to use that option.

Other than Little John's, check out Baja Bean, Amigos, Cafe Europa, and the Virginian. The College Inn and the Biltmore are pretty good as well and I think the College Inn delivers until like 1am. Hope this helps.

well lets hope o-hill opens with something spectacular ..or...opens, in general. haha

I'm a very picky eater, and I'm already formulating plans for "going solo" with my dining by the second semester, if I have to.

cavalier302, check out this link....it may be of interest to you.

That's pretty sweet...I love the food on the corner. It's unfortunate that it would be such a long walk for me, but bad food will motivate me to do anything...

Hrm. I may just purchase like $200 corner dollars or something. Seems like a good deal.

Favorite place to eat: Little John's

Best Looking Building: The Rotunda

Best Coffee: Greenberry's

Best Place to Study: Clemons Library (though I would call what we did studying)

Best Dining Hall: Newcomb (I saw the new Observatory Hill Dining Hall which will open its doors this coming Fall. It's supposedly really nice.)

Best Place to Be On a Saturday in Fall: Scott Stadium (for the football games); the Lawn (if you want to chill on Grounds); Humpback Rock (if you like hiking. It's a 15/20 minute drive from Grounds, and it's located in the Blue Ridge Mountains)

Oops...re. Best Place to Study, I meant to type, "though I wouldn't call what we did studying."
