My kids also like Flat Top Grill if they are buying, Edzos for burgers, The Union for pizza, LePeep for Brunch and Celtic Knot & Found for small plates /dinner.
Call me boring, but I liked the foliage and the overall safety of the area. Especially as compared to another area on the south side, also with a major research university.
There was a nice audiophile shop a a bit of a ways down in Evanston. I can’t recall the name, but I can remember some luxurious listening there.
Dixie Kitchen is absolutely amazing. Edzos is possibly my favorite restaurant. I really like the Lakefill when it’s nice out. I think that it’s a pretty great area in general for getting a good variety of food.
