I'm thinking about what classes I want to take next year, and I was wondering if any current students could list/describe their favourite classes at UNC. It can be part of your major or something completely random, but it would definitely help as there are so many classes to choose from. It would especially help if you listed classes that you weren't expecting to love, but did. Also, these can be classes that you take as an upperclassman too, it's nice to look forward to something! Thanks! :D

ENST 201, Environment and Society. Personally, I think that is a class that everyone at UNC should take at some point in their time here, regardless of your major. It brings up a lot of issues and shows some connections that you would have never even considered before.

Thanks! This may sound stupid, but is it like Environmental Science?

Yep. Basically environmental science 101, despite the name. Really good class.

Good question!

History of East Asian Art was so well done. It wasn’t easy, but I learned so much about Chinese and Japanese history in such an accessible way. I wish I’d taken it before I studied abroad.

Anything with Mark Katz - I took a First Year Seminar with him, “The Art and Culture of the DJ”

Child Developmental Psych with Nicole Heilbron. Nicole has a ton of clinical experience and is soooo interesting.

Also, Biopsychology. Social Cognition with Keith Payne.

Anth 101 changed the way I look at groups of people.

Honors Bio 101 with DeSaix sooooooo gooooood but pretty dang hard.
