Faxing Forms to Colleges

Is it okay to fax transcripts and counselor recommendations to colleges rather than spending a lot of money on international mailing?

The colleges I'm sending them to are:

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Stanford
Cornell
Hofstra U

If that helps

If your counselor is familiar with common app, the school forms for all those schools (not sure about Hofstra) can be submitted online. Otherwise, I think you have to mail it rather than fax it, but you could always call the schools and ask.

Many schools such as MIT and Stanford give priority to Fax over Mail. You’ll have to contact each of the universities you are applying to have more information.

By the way, I am international and I have concluded that mail can sometimes be much cheaper than fax. In my case, I had to send about 50 pages of transcripts and other documents. If I had gone with Fax, I would spend about U$5 per page; the cost would be enormous. By mail, I packed everything together and wasted only U$40 (from Brazil to US) via DHL. I recommend making some calculations to make sure which way is better.
