recently, i got DQed from the regionals b/c i didn't wear stockings under my slacks (my teacher didn't know so she didn't inform me). now i'm planning on going to the states in march. but the trip costs around 230.

the thing is, i was going to do an individual event but i only have...half a week to complete it and hand it in (she didn't ask us to decide on events till a week ago). so now i'm doing this group thing called "business ethics" with 2 kids who i'm not confident in at all.

okay lets cut to the chase, anyone here has had experience on that?????
Pleeeeeeaaaaaase reply! :)

I'm stood 1st in regional event dealing w/ Business Procedures which has quite a lot of ethical questions included. Now, I studied simply NOTHING for this. It's just like I am a good guesser and I belive that's what u'll need w/ business ehtic. Just keep ur mind and w/ a positive attitude, smartly go thru the whole thing, u'll be fine. :) (it's costing me not a penny to go the state :) the club is paying for everyone, ain't that really cool?

i'm in a rich town but my school's kinda cheap. plus, my FBLA instructor's just simply clueless. or else i probably would've done an individual project.

I was disqualified for cheating at North Jersey's regional conference two years ago. At the time, I didn't even know what had happened, except suddenly, the proctor came up and asked me for my name. I didn't think much of it until after the awards ceremony, I found out that if a proctor asks for a student's name, they probably got disqualified. I was pretty annoyed because I wasn't cheating at all, so I have no idea what the proctor was thinking, except that it totally ruined my day.

Also, about business ethics, I couldn't find anything on it. Is it like a recent new event or something?

My dad actually tought that course for a while. I remember him making his students do presentations on different historic events that happened, like Enron. He also heald a bunch of discussions about what practices were just the right thing to do. I think that one discussion was about businesses corrupting the government. You can probably find textbooks on them (The books are extremely small and not written like normal textbooks) at your local college if you want to get it. Other than that I can't help you. All that you can really do is think about whether the action is just or not.

As for Business Ethics, it's most definitely not a new topic. It's always been there within the business field, but it's come into public light in the past few years with things like Enron and the like. In 2003, there was an article on business and ethics in Crain's Detroit Business magazine. If you want, I can email it to you.

basically, as I've told u there's NOTHING to prep except knowing some terms and maybe some business figures from the past and what's their accomplishment.

I went to state last year with a 3rd place in Desktop Publishing from regionals. This year, i'm going to state by winning 1st place in Network Concepts. I don't plan on going to state this year because its a complete waste of time and money if i don't win (there is no way i'm gonna win anything). SO yea...
