Do you recommend taking the FE exam for biomedical engineering? I don't think they have one in that field specifically, so would it just be for general engineering? Or would you say it's not worth it?

I recommend to everyone take an FE exam as a senior. You may never need it, but I have worked with too many who did need it and wish that they had. If you are a good student you should pass without much trouble.

Take it - the biomed engineering dept at your university can advise you as to which exam you should take.

I took the ME FE Exam about two weeks ago and I found out recently I passed.

I didn’t study at all so I assume I just passed (you don’t get a score if you pass, it just says pass).

It was 5.5 hours long and it was awful. Just awful.

Congrats @ThisIsMichigan! Sorry it was awful, but at least it’s over! FWIW to future test takers, my son did not find it awful, but just way too long. He burned out and decided to not finish - said he knew he had done enough to pass.

The awful part was the length pretty much. So much stuff I knew at one point and now it is just at the back of my head. It didn’t help that I probably haven’t learned really anything this Sr year haha.

Yeah, since you don’t get a score I have no idea how I did. I just figured better safe than sorry

hi guys as of now the format of FE has been changed. Either you can take specific discipline or genera. Im confuse to choose either of them…which would be easy???

Take the one specific to your major. Your classes should line up with the material on that test. Either route is easy, the FE is not hard. They even cut the test down to only 6 hours so it’s not as long.
