fear of rescission

I am not a straight A's students. For example: Last semester, I had 2 C's (all AP classes) but still got into my first choice (BU). Junior year I had a C in AP Bio but raised it to a B 2nd semester.

This year, I am taking Honors Pre Calc. Last semester, I got a C, but this semester, I have a D- My friends tell me that I need to get As on every upcoming tests (2-3) to raise it to a C.

If I end up with a D, will I get rescinded from BU? I know this type of question is addressed multiple times in CC, but please bear with me. I know there must be at least another CCer who has the same problem. My career center lady told me that it would not be an automatic rescission, but it's better to raise it up to a C. This is a very generic response and I would like a more descriptive answer from any of you guys.

Thanks.

And yes, I am trying my best. Math is just not my forte.

Yes, you could be rescinded. Take the very strong warning that you got from admissions, and get a tutor and also see about extra credit to raise your grade.

I have empathy for you: Math isn't my forte either, and I know from experience that tutoring can help.

Actually, I didnt get a warning from BU admissions. I asked the College and Career Center lady from my school about this situation. I might try calling BU, but again, I think I'm going to get the same answer.

I have just a bit more than a month. I fear it's not enough time to raise around 8-9 percent.

Ya i have the same fear lol...maybe its just me feeling guilty for slacking off a bit. I had a B 1st semester in AP Stat, then in 3rd quarter i got a C and i prolly have a D-C 4th quarter :P I should have a C avg even if i get D but im scared i might get rescinded from U of Delaware.

Work hard and you'll be able to raise it by 9%. Sometimes if you work hard, something might "click" and you'll start to understand the topics much better. That's generally what happens with me.

Don't worry, there's scope ;)
If you do get a D in the end, there's still the possibility that you won't get rescinded.

If, at the end, you still have a D, talk to the teacher. Last year my senior friend (going to USC) got a D 3rd and 4th quarter in math, and made a deal with the teacher that if he turned in all of his completed homework, got at least C's on all of his upcoming quizzes and tests, and tutored the teacher's Algebra 1 freshman during lunch, the teacher would raise it to a C for his year grade.

Thanks for all the encouragement and responses. I am glad I am not the only one in CC with this problem, and for those who suffer from the similar problem, I feel you all.

My math teacher is very strict. I don't think any "deals" would work out. Ditto Sci-Fry, I will try to bring my grade up to 9%, hopefully!

Do you guys think it's a smart move to let BU know about my current grade (whether or not I will end up with a D)?

I need to raise 7% now. I got 2 chapter tests (30 pts each), the final, homework assignments (always do it, 2pts each), and 1 or 2 more quizzes (10 pts each)

sure,it wont hurt
