<p>hmm, actually, I kind of think that your medical ec’s are lacking. I think your research helps though. Also, I agree with pk92, HPME and PLME are ridiculously competitive-since there are SO FEW spots. Actually, I got the MSAR book, and HPME accepted about 17 people last year! Just a few years ago, that numbr was 30-40.
But, PK, I think PLME is more competitive, since there are a lot more applicants, but also because there is no interview-so everyone is on equal playing field-and your essays are REALLY important.</p>
<p>What i mean is for HPME, there are several stages-so your application is more likely not to blend in with everything else. For example, after you get the application-you know that you are in the top 700, then obviously-this is the hardest-after you get an interview-you know that you have what it takes to get in, its up to your personal skills now
whereas, in PLME, is like 1000 kids all applying and their essays are supposed to stand out-it seems more like a cluster-f***
