Feb 12 ACT

balster, I’m pretty sure #60 was a. and mtv22, retake the test when you have more pre calc under ur belt. It definitely helps for later ones (in my opinion).

Oh my god i’m ■■■■■■■■ why didn’t i think of that???

the answer to that question was A the math one with the factoring…you didnt have to factor…i just looked at the answers and multiplied them out in my head and fortunately it was the first one

mtv22 i honestly dont remember i just remember guessing A
first time i took the act in december i got a 35 on math
this time i completely screwed up with time and had to guess 7-8 questions near the end.

^probably nervous/anxious. Time may have been running out?

I do Social Science and Natural Science first. Then Prose and Humanities in whatever order. 33 last time! Hoping for something higher this time. And for what it’s worth, I was doing so crappy on practice reading ACTs. This one seemed SO much easier.

@Theundertaken yea my school is having all juniors take it on March 1st, I’m just afraid that’s still too soon. If I don’t get the scores I want I might retake it in August.

hahahah ****t happens

ya, soccer, I began actually trying to factor, and it just got annoying. I forgot what I put, it was either B or A. I unfortunately began the multiplying of answers from letter E (or J) first.

was the answer to the last one c ( or h)???

You know, the sin cos one

thanks for making my day a little bit better there soccersr… and that question was like around #50 right?

What was the last math question? Or whatever we’re talking about. Not the cosx sinx one. I got that one. If you read an ACT review book, you’ll know how to do that, even if you don’t have a full trig class (I didn’t—just a little in Geometry).

March 1st ACT? What state do you live in? I know here in Illinois we must take it April 27th. (Which I heard, but not sure is true, that whatever score I get on it, it must stay on my transcript… that’d be stupid and almost feels pointless that I’ve taken the ACT this time and December 11th if colleges can see a possible very bad score I get next time…)

yes the factoring one was like #50… and the last answer was pi/2 to pi/4… if you took trig or alg 2/trig, that was the simplest question on the test

thomsill, the factoring one I think was somewhat early. But I really don’t remember at all.

I haven’t taken either and have never had a school trig course, but I think I got it. But wasn’t the first number in the domain negative?

Factoring one… I don’t recall. The one where the product was -40?

the factoring one was around 50… pretty sure it was question 50 anyway

Michigan, idk why march 1st but it just is. And I’ve read the PR but I still had no idea on the last trig one, i’ll probably be laughing at myself for how easy it is when I actually learn it.

Cosx naturally starts(or crosses through) (1,0). Sin crosses through (0,0). That’s how you know which is which, then you just look for where cos > sin.

Amiright?

COMPLETE DIFFUCULT (not for me but to some people) answers:
last one: pi/2 to pi/4
the one with comparing radii: 2:1
the one with the piecewise function the last question on that section: .10x -5100
if anyone has any other questions, just ask
