February 2012 Score Reporting Thread

I just thought we should make a thread where we can all post our scores before they're released. Good luck to all! 10 minutes!

oh my god. :expressionless: Longest 10 minutes of my life.

Dumb 8 minutes! I am trying to entertain myself but i can’t!!!

two MINUTES OMG!

1 minute! faints and wakes up 12 hours later

Yess!!! 35 composite@!!! FIRST TIME!!!

34 english
36 math
33 reading
36 science

Composite: 31

English: 31
Math: 31
Reading: 27
Science: 34

I really wanted a 32, but oh well. I’m done.

:( Really disappointed. Got a 28 composite. Definitely going to re-take.

29 English
26 Math
30 Reading
26 Science

35 composite!!! First time taking the test, super stoked.

English: 35

Reading: 34
Science: 36

34 Composite! But may possibly retake.
34 English
33 Math
36 Reading
32 Science

But I only got a 7 on Writing, which honestly doesn’t make sense to me because I answered the prompt clearly and used a ton of specific examples. And since I want to go into journalism colleges won’t want to see that. :/

English: 31
Math: 33
Reading: 34
Science: 32
Composite: 33

I’m just a tad excited.
LAST standardized test. Ever.

Composite: 28
English: 24
Math: 27
Reading: 33
Science: 28

Writing:9

Composite: 36
English:36
Math:36
Reading:36
Science:36

And a drumroll,

Writing: 8

Facepalm writing…

E:35
M: 31 (ick)
R: 30
S: 30

C: 32

Reasonable. Especially considering a “super score” of all 5 of my practice tests would be a 33…

I can’t help but feel like I should have done better on the math by far as it’s my second best section (usually 34-36) and then maybe a couple points on the science… But then once remembering to factor in my test anxiety and what not, I’m pretty happy.

Solid. Not retaking.

Do you guys know if the essay will be used as part of a composite score?

(the SAT-ACT correspondence table has the English/Writing compared with the 800 SAT Writing scale. The composite corresponds with the 1600 scale)

I haven’t gotten my essay back yet, but just in case it would be nice to know.

^ no.

“Writing scores have no impact on your ACT Composite score.” - act.org

^
So it would not affect admissions in a great way? I am very happy with my 35 but just in case I get a poor essay score, I shouldn’t bother retaking?

English: 31
Math: 36
Reading: 30
Science: 35
Composite: 33

YES!!! I never thought in a million years this was going to happen

@jimmypod,

As far as how much the essay affects admissions, it depends on the school… But, generalizing, most schools don’t look at it harshly. They know you’re writing an essay in 30 minutes at the end of taking 3-4 hours worth of standardized test; they know you’re exhausted and that’s definitely not your best work. It’s a number they can glance at for an “okay, they know the fundamentals of writing and they’re not completely clueless.” What will really matter are your college application essays.

A 35 composite is pretty much amazing. If you know you can pull that off again with a higher writing score (a solid essay to shoot for is a 10, IMO) then go for it.

Comp: 29
Reading: 34
English: 32
Math: 26
Science: 24 -_-
Essay: 8
I’m really excited, I feel confident that if I study I can get at least a 30. Sooo happy, I was just aiming for a 25. State college, here I come ;P
