***February 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

@skieurope what do the jail bars mean?

@coffeeandtea it means a user has been warned. I think I have them.
@skieurope do you know how long these jail bars last?

The user received a major warning.

If no further violations in the meantime, 2 weeks.

So when is the exact date when the scores come out?

@Enforcer88 February 17th for multiple choice scores.

@Nicolausparkon thanks that’s pretty quick. It’s longer for writing, right?

@TheTennisNinja My Highest writing is a 36

Moderator, what qualifies as an offense deemed worthy of a warning?

@Enforcer88
Writing does not effect when the multiple choice scores come out. Those should be out starting February 17th. The writing score comes “2-8 weeks after multiple choice scores are released.” However, I’ve always received mine a week or so after multiple choice scores.

What do you guys think this will be…

-1 English
-5 Math
-6 Reading
-6 Science

Trying to do a worst case scenario based on how it felt

Any ideas?

Test appeared harder vs the practice test. This was his first attempt. What would be considered good score for 7th grader?

@zoe876 I hope you are kidding…in seventh grade, I didn’t even know what the ACT was.

no kidding, it was for duke Tip program for 7th graders. He is trying to obtain bevans scholarship so needed to nail at least one portion of test with perfect 36. he found test drastically different from past test. :frowning:

English: Towards the end of the test, I got many B/F in a row and then many C/G in a row
Math: For the first 10 questions, I had like 8 C/G
Anyone else?

@TheSerbianKing I don’t remember for English but for math I definitely had like 8 in a row. It was starting to freak me out so I went back over my answers but I figured if the answers made sense I’d ignore the weird pattern.

@TheSerbianKing I feel like they were trolling us with having a lot of the same column in a row. I had something like that but I was pretty confident with my answers, and it wasn’t anything TOO statistically improbable

What do u guys think the math curve wil be? 1 wrong = 36?

@jshu11 many people i talked to thought math was ridiculously harder than usual (these people took calculus as freshmen) so i think it’ll be a good curve.

I hope it’s a good curve. I know for a fact I missed one.

@jshu11 in the past that’s been the case over half the time (see “the college panda” article on past ACT curves). Since most thought this math was harder than usual, that should be the case now. Still though, fingers crossed.
