Even a guy who took the act w/ writing with me in the same room has gotten his MC scores back, but I’m still registered. Does that mean there was a prob with my match info or something and I have to wait like 8 weeks
Feeling your pain, @TheSearchIsReal. From southern California and still haven’t received any scores yet.
35 here but would have been 36 except for this weird science section. Oh well!
ACT scores site is down right now for maintenance.
Is it a unanimous belief on this form that the science curve was brutal?
@hungrypanda hopefully…either that or I literally did bomb that section. I think it may have been -1=34.
-1 a 34?!? Was the science section really that easy!!? @Gunkz123
Apparently, I haven’t seen anyone report they got a 35 on science. I thought it was super easy…got a 25 though so what can I say lol…
Yeah I got a 34 on science too
I got a 33 and I know I missed more than 1
Do you think you missed at least 3? @fairagoura
@hungrypanda probably. I did not keep track of time during the test, and didn’t feel very confident. I was expecting around a 31.
I got 33 but am not sure how many I missed.
C 28
E 33
M 27
R 25
S 25
Overall, I am disappointed. I had a C27 previously. My reading went down 1 point after I continuously drilled on reading and scored 30+ time in and time out. I did not enjoy the passages and screwed up timing so hopefully next time will be better. I’m not stressing over science since a lot of people in this thread made a 25 too lol. Happy with English and Math though.
Does anybody have any advice on how to get my English up to a 35 or maybe 36 if I’m scoring 33s now? I’ve consistently scored 30-32 on English practice tests, so the 33 is a bit of a surprise but not a total fluke. If I can get a 35 I will not have to take Freshman English I and II at my school I plan to attend and can skip AP English next year in high school.
I’m about to start a Trig unit in my math class where we’ll cover most of the trig on the ACT, so that should bring math up 1-2 more points. Any other advice to inch that 27 closer to 30?
For english just studying all the grammar rules really helps. Sparknotes website has a good list of the ones covered on the ACT.
@jwn9917 I took the ACT about a year ago and got a 33 on English, but a 36 this time around. The real difference for me was that I practiced so that I would have extra time left over to reconsider difficult questions, and on the real thing I had time to check every single answer to make sure I was confident. So, I recommend taking a bunch of practice English portions so you have time to recheck everything- and most importantly, avoid silly mistakes.
I got a 31 composite (34E/26M/32R/31S) but somehow got a 21 on Writing. I’m really upset because with a 34E and a 32 R I expected much higher. Writing is my best subject in school so I’m not sure what to do now. I was not going to retest, but now I feel like I have to… what should I do??
Yeah I got a 36 on English (-0) and a 34 on reading (-2) and somehow got a 25 on writing. I don’t get how, because I wrote a strong essay and followed all of the directions. I’ll probably have it rescored.
Do u think -4 on this reading will be a 32? @destined4harvard
@hungrypanda I don’t know, but it will be anywhere from 31-33.
