***February 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

@Faultystart this really smart guy who helped people like 36s said that the grading for ACT writing is good if 28 or 36. it’s pretty funny because he’s pretty strict and expects all of us to get 36s. the way grading works is there are 4 categories, each out of 6 points. there are 2 people who review your essay and the total raw score will be from 8 to 48. they then convert the score into scale score - he told us 3 to 4 points off from each reviewer is good enough.

Is there a set date we get scores or does it just depend?

What are the curve estimates?

@realtwinkie It really depends. if you took writing, the writing score will come out a little bit later. they say it’s going to take 5 to 8 weeks, but it really doesn’'t take that long. I got my september score 2 weeks after.

Thanks I don’t care about my writing just how I did on the multiple choice sections.

Lolllll I think I missed like 12 math questions
:(( :(( :((

5-8 weeks is the score report, not the online scores. You will likely be able to see them on February 17th.

so the equations previously given were incorrect?

Y’all, I really don’t think we should be discussing answers here, tbh. ACT could be monitoring this thread and I don’t want any of y’alls scores screwed up. I’m reporting my own posts that are questionable, think about doing the same.

For the final question in the Willa Cather section on the English, was the answer no change or something like “authors have started to write biographies about her” or “she accomplished a lot in her lifetime” or something else? (I kind of paraphrased all of those)

@speller95 Although I would agree, the same thing has happened on most other testing threads and nothing has happened.

But seriously y’all. Discussing the questions is kind of risky.

How do you edit posts?

There’s a settings box on the top right of your comment

Well, time to forget all about this. Imma go eat a tub of ice cream and watch Parks and Rec peace out

Watching Friends over here! @SugarSmarts

How do you guys think the curve will be

I think the English curve will be kinder than normal. The math curve will probably be a little rough, and really rough for middling scores (like 20-25). The reading curve should be about average and science will be pretty rough. @realtwinkie

@Studious99 are you sure science will be pretty rough

@realtwinkie I felt like it would be rough because most of the questions seemed fairly basic- most of the answers were pretty easy to find on graphs and stuff compared to the last science section I took. Nothing was especially complicated/time-consuming. I might be wrong though. This is my $0.02

how harsh will the reading curve be?
