***February 2016 ACT Discussion Thread***

@greenleaf1234 I think it will be pretty much average. The sextant/nautical section seemed hard but the rest of them, especially the sugar/salt one, seemed easy.

The music one wasn’t good for me. I think a lot of people got bored with that part of the reading section so that should factor in too.

As long as -1 isn’t 34 or -2 isn’t 33 in Reading I will be okay. I despise those curves lol. I do expect to see something like that on science though.

I thought science was easier than the Dec test.

I thought science was really hard! :(( I guessed on a bunch of questions.

Double checked my English and caught like 4 mistakes…maybe god wants me to get a 33

for math I think i got the one with what are the total combos of 3 topping 1 top 2 top no top all 3 top. i put 9 total combos

@TooTiredToWink Maybe I was wrong but could you explain your work?

I see I’m the ONLY ONE that doesn’t feel like that was the easiest test ever! Probably getting a 20 :,(

@sharkshockey which question are you referring to with ‘consequence’?

My first ACT and i thought Science was a breeze. The approach I took was to literally, not even analyze any of the studies/passages/graphs without reading the questions first. For reading I skimmed and then went to the questions, going back for reference since the questions were super specific. It saved me from getting bored and mentally tired…hopefully it worked out.

@c011e9e I thought it was harder than december

@kyrieIrving2 the question asked what word would not fit. People were stuck between consequence and acompamient. Pretty sure it’s consequence.

@sharkshockey explain your reasoning because I thought accompaniment didnt fit

curve for english?

Guys…remember ACT people do monitor these boards, be careful about discussing the specific questions and answers…

Didn’t get that one either about the toppings

Did anyone understand the y is an integer product question? I don’t know why that one confused me so much.

Any ideas on math curves? My son missed three in December and got a 33, so not a very friendly curve. This time he said there’s a chance he might have missed only one. Hoping that might still be a 36.

Also, FWIW, he said the science was the hardest he’s had.

Lol usually my worst problems in reading and science are when I get interested in the passage and spend too much time on it. Thankfully this time they were reasonably dull yet stimulating. Did anyone else think the social science one from reading was pretty hard? I thought it was the hardest, although I don’t remember what the natural science one was.

Actually PRAYING that this will be my last time taking it. If I get anything less than 34 in science I’ll be upset since that’s the only one I haven’t gotten a 36 in before (my highest is 33).

Wait how do people know how many questions they got wrong? Is there some specific part of the score report that tells you this?
