****FEBRUARY 2017 ACT THREAD****

My son got his score when he checked it at 12:30am today.
We live in Northern California, but last time(Dec ACT), it took a few days for
him to get his score after the first release day.

So Cal: my daughter took her test at El Camino in the San Fernando Valley and we still don’t have scores. But we know kids from Harvard Westlake who got theirs.

I’m in socal and took the test in Claremont. Still says registered and I’m really worried about my scores. Hope it comes out soon

Did they release his score at noon? Because I heard hey only post it on Wednesdays or Fridays

So next batch of results comes out Friday? Any chance another batch comes out at midnight (Thursday)?

Hello everyone,

I’m a junior and this was my second time taking the ACT. My Scores:
Dec 2016: E: 27, M: 27, R: 29, S:24 C:27
Feb 2017: E. 33, M: 28, R:28, S:35 C:31

I did study hard using the red book over winter break and through January, so my overall score improved. But I am striving for a C 33 to be competitive for merit scholarships. My reading went down, and I still can’t finish the fourth passage. I had like 4 left. Also, my math only went up 1, even though I felt more comfortable with the material this time, so I think it is also mainly a timing issue. I didn’t complete(still bubbled) like 7 of them.

Does anyone have any successful timing tips/strategies to improve these subscores to a 32? I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi, I would suggest you buy some more books from Amazaon. Some more ACT prep books and time yourself on the reading section. The one I took in October I only finished 3 passages. But this time on the February one I finished all 4. My scores aren’t out yet and I’m nervous. But I hope this helps you.

DD is in So Cal, and has been doing significant prep (junior). Just got her scores today: C32. She will be happy, as her composite is 2 higher overall

I have background in education, and I am blown away at how variable the scores are for both our daughter and the rest of you. I look at all of your scores above, and I have to wonder about the validity of this test. I don’t see SATs vary this much test to test. Seems crazy, but we’re all in now! She plans to take again in April, and then hopefully will be DONE. She went up 4 points from her highest official practice (as in a proctored exam) in Reding and Engish, and DOWN 4 - 7 points in science!! Makes absolutely no sense. Where is the test retest validity?

May I ask you what time was her score released?

A few of you ask if you should retake the test when you have similar composites and subjects that have varied between the two tests (@cubbiefan0711 and @AGoodFloridian). My thought is that you should absolutely take it again. If you can superscore, you have a good chance of improving at least one subject, hopefully more. If the college doesn’t superscore, the worst you can be is where you are now. I can’t think of a negative (other than the prep time) to taking the test again.

Thanks–just signed up for April-here we go again

SoCal still says register smh

Still registered in Michigan

Still registered in SoCal also…

ditto from Chicago

still registered in fl

Still Registered in Maryland

wait nvm. i just checked and got my score (woo!)

Composite:33 E:33 M:36. R:28. S:34

D was registered last night and scores are up this morning.
C-29
E-32
M-27
R-34
S-23
Hopefully with more prep, she can improve science and get a 30 composite but if not, happy with a 29. She hates standardized tests and her PSAT was equivalent to a 24 composite so happy with a 29!
