What do you guys think the curves will be?

English - normal to generous curve
Math - normal, maybe a little generous
Reading - normal to generous
Science - normal.

I personally didn’t think any of the tests were really easy or hard. just a happy medium :)

what would be a normal curve for science

like 5 wrong would be a 29-30.

man. why are the science curves tougher than the others

I’m hoping for a generous math and English curve…
I made some dumb mistakes :/

It’d be nice if science and reading didn’t have harsh curves.

unfortunately the test is designed so most students receive the average score of 22. If the curves were more generous, those students would receive a 24-25, which would offset the whole integrity of the test

english-harsh
math-generous
reading-harsh
science-generous

that would be music to my ears JuBOBO.

Curves rarely offset scores by more than one point, so there’s not much of a point in worrying about them.

Exception: You are going for a 35-36 and a -1 34 kills you.

What would -20 on reading be?

minus 20 would be about a 20

What’s a -10 in math and english? and a -15 in science?

^ lol welcome thats what im going for = /

good thing reading curves are always a -1 still a 36

@olleger

umm no I’d say that’s generally not true

I think usually it’s -1 = 35
Sometimes, -1 = 34.

I’ve taken it 5 times so I have a good idea lol

^is it really?? O.o

yea

Don’t expect a great curve.

The most likely section I’d say for a -1 = 36 is math considering they’re more questions (60) and everyone on the board claims it was a hard test.

… Sorry, haha, but I am positive a -1 is most nearly always a 36. Trust me, Ive took every practice test in Red book, princeton, barons, and kaplan sophomore year. Math is hardly ever -1 36 btw.

haha ok

btw: olleger, how did u think the Feb Science was as a whole compared to other tests? Did you think the experiments were easy or hard to understand? Science is always my killer section.

Also, what did you think about the math section? Other people claim it was hard. Was it just those few problems that were tricky/difficult?

This is what I got last time
Eng: 36
Math: 33
Reading: 36
Science: 30 :(

If there is a -1 36 then ACT is pretty much saying they made the test too hard. -1 36’s don’t happen a lot. Neither do -1 34’s.

For reading a -1 36 doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because it is 40 questions, but when that happens -2 is a 34.(last year more people nationwide made 36s on reading than 35s, showing 35 was not obtainable for some tests, meaning -1 36 or -1 34.

Again, curves don’t mean much of anything below a 34. Hitting an easy test is always much better than hitting a hard test with a generous curve.
