February ACT/Jan SAT

will Ivy leagues/other highly competitive collleges accept these scores/look at them? thanks

Check with each college to see if they accept the February test score. I’ve checked up some colleges for you.

Harvard: Candidates may complete testing (SAT or ACT with writing and two SAT Subject Tests) by using the January SAT or the February ACT dates, but we urge you to have your testing completed by the December date. Please note that in order for your application to be considered complete, your official test scores must submitted directly to Harvard by the testing agency on your behalf.

Penn: Regular Decision candidates should complete all testing by December of their senior year. First-time testing delayed until January will place the applicant at a disadvantage in our evaluation process. Tests retaken in January will be accepted.

Yale: If you choose to take the SAT and apply through Regular Decision, you must take the tests no later than January 2011.We will not receive scores from tests taken in April 2011 in time for consideration.
We cannot guarantee that February 2011 ACT results will arrive in time for consideration. To increase the likelihood of a timely report, take the test in December 2010 or before, and list Yale as a score recipient.

Columbia: For Regular Decision candidates, scores for January tests are generally received in time for consideration, but it is strongly advisable to take testing no later than December. Testing taken in February or later cannot be considered.

Princeton: All SAT testing must be completed by the January test date. All ACT testing must be completed by the December test date. If you currently live outside the United States or Canada, try to complete all testing by the December test date, if possible.

Dartmouth: Didn’t say

Brown: A word about the College Board “Score Choice” for Regular Decision candidates: You are welcome to take advantage of the Score Choice option, but we strongly urge you to have completed all your required testing by the December 5th SAT test date, and that you have arranged for your results to be sent directly to Brown on or before our January 1st Regular Decision deadline. We would not be able to read your application until we receive a full set of official test scores, so it is to your advantage for us to have those test results in hand by the end of December. You may still submit scores from the January administration of the SAT, and they would be added to your file.

Cornell: All applicants should submit either the SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT with Writing. In addition, each undergraduate college/school has specific requirements for the SAT Subject Tests (see requirements below). It is your responsibility to make sure that you have taken the appropriate Subject Tests and have the scores officially reported to Cornell from the testing agency by the application deadline.

Hi guys, I need URGENT HELP!
I’m an international student (Croatia). I took SAT I once and I got 1710 (cr480, ma690, wr540). I have this last chance now in January, and I doubt between taking SAT I or SAT II.
I need your advice. What do you think will the Admission Officers consider better?

1.) SAT I 1710 and 3 SAT II 700+ or
2.) SAT I 1900

I’m applying to Villanova, Macalester, Oberlin, Lafayette, Lehigh, Colgate, Gettysburg, Trinity University, St. Olaf.
Also my GPA 4.0, strong EC’s, 10% of class, need financial aid.

^^^ @papirnati: You may want to start a new thread. However, for Lafayette, I would suggest retaking the SAT if you think you can make that much of an improvement. Lafayette ‘encourages’, but does not require the SAT II tests. The middle 50% of accepted students for last year’s incoming class was 1840-2140, broken down as follows (CR/M/W): 600/630/610 to 700/730/710. For ED it was 1670-1930 and 540/580/550 to 630/660/640.
