I'm applying for colleges this September and unfortunately my SAT scores were not what I wanted. I got a 6 on my essay and a 600 in Math, and I was hoping to apply to Ivies. I'm thinking of taking the ACT in February. Would colleges give leeway if my score comes out past the February deadlines?

For most schools the last available deadline is the Jan SAT test as there is not ACT in January. I think it's best to just call each specific school and ask them personally.

Unfortunately they are all on vacation right now. I'm wondering if the deadline for the SAT is January, the ACT deadline may be the analogous February deadline. I know that Harvard's deadline for SAT scores is February 7th. As there are fewer ACT test dates would the deadline be extended?

I somewhat doubt it. A good idea would be to I guess send your best score (either SAT or ACT) before that Feb deadline that the college has, take the Feb ACT and rush it; worst that happens is they don't look at it, but they might. It all depends on when they look at your application. Also, even if they don't consider it for acceptance, they may look at it for scholarship potential.
Hope that helps!

Thank you! I hope it works.
