February LSAT Date?

I know law school applicants typically take the LSAT in June or October of the year before entering law school, but what about the February date?

I'm thinking about the February date because I want to devote my start of summer to relaxing (read: partying) and my internship (fingers crossed), not studying for the LSAT. And I want to send my applications out first thing in the Fall, so October isn't good for that.

If I take the LSAT in Feb., I'd study throughout Fall semester and really buckle down during winter break, when I wouldn't have an internship to work hard at. Any thoughts?

Also, I hear the curve is a little better in February because fewer people take it then. Can anyone speak to this?

if i am not mistaken, i remember reading that the curve is determined using 3 or 4 of the exams that were administered right before yours. and just because fewer people take it in february doesnt mean the curve may be easier, anyways, since you dont know if fewer smart people are taking it or fewer dumb people are taking it in february.

The other advantage to taking it in February is that, since you're doing it so early, you can retake in October if you're not happy with your score and still hit the same admission cycle.

don't do it! i took it in february and will be re-taking in october. the feb. test is SO frustrating b/c you will NEVER know how you did on a particular section. seriously, it's not worth it.

to piggyback on lilybloom's post, the february test was non-disclosed and as she stated, you don't know how you did on a particlar section, just your overall score. So on the off chance if you had to retake, you would not know your strenghts and in what areas you would need to do better.

give up some time over the summer, while you are not taking classes and take in october then you have december, and until next october if you want to retake before your cycle begins.
