What did you all think of the prompt?

not too bad; v. similar to practice prompts i’ve done

I liked the prompt. I finished with 30 seconds remaining; I wrote about 3 and 3/4 pages.

I said that we should label because:

label -> allows balanced diet -> increased health concious -> decrease in mortality rate -> increase in population -> increase in manpower.

as for counter argument, I put that it actually benefits the economy by:

higher manpower -> lower production cost -> cheaper products -> more spending -> active economy.

Yea first time doing writing here so I felt time crunched but ended up decent.

yeah, anything coherent and decently well written with a good amount of length will definitely get a 10+, so you should be good :)

It was my first time taking an ACT so I was freaking out the first two sections… (Proctor took up our watches)

My essay had good content but it was only a little over 2 pages. Is that enough?

yeah as long as you fill up the first 2 pages, I would say that’s long enough.

in the dec test i didn’t fill up the first 2 pages (2 or 3 lines left) and i still got a 12 so by length i mean like, not really short. length helps, but idt it is a requirement to get a good score

Ok beast Got a 31 in decemember. Hoping to get a 32 + 10-12 on writing this time :)

Honestly, the purpose of the writing section is to see how much you can write. As long as your essay contains basic structure (intro, take a stance, arguments for/against, conclusion) it all comes down to its length.

I said they should do the labeling.

Arguments for: More health conscious people, healthier & more productive people due to healthier food, “health war” instead of “price war” that restaurants currently face (especially fast food), cheaper healthcare, restaurants would adapt to offer more healthy options

Arguments against: Not everyone would care about the nutritional info, unhealthy restaurants would experience decreased revenue while they transition their menu to have more healthier options

i dunno… the one time i wrote 3.5-4 pages i got a 10 (but my essay was only so so)… the time i wrote a solid essay and didn’t even get 2 pages I got a 12… so yeah.

It depends, i guess. And it also varies since the whole essay grading process is actually quite subjective.

If I wrote around 2 and 3/4 pages and had solid reasoning, what can my score be?

I didn’t really use “sophisicated” vocabulary, only trivial ones like variety, etc…

I think my organization was good though; I tried to make a smooth transition between each paragraphs.

between a 10 -12. it’s a crapshoot to guess the exact #… depends on what mood your graders were in also :)

If I wrote about the good benefits of being aware of what you are eating such as having the power to choose whether you should eat it or not, Food Inc(a movie that shows how large companies make their beef and chicken for people),and the negative effects of not knowing about it which could cause things like obesity, heart attacks and etc, and at the end a sentence comparing it to cigarettes of where knowing is better than not knowing, with the whole thing about 2 1/2 pages, would I mange to get a 10-12?

I could have done SO MUCH better if I was able to write in pen. Every like 30 sex I would have to stop and shake out my hand. I HATE writing in pencil!

I HATE writing in pencil ^^^^^^

Made a argument about information transparency (that its good to release information) and compared it to Obama’s birth certificate, it was tiiiight.

I felt pretty tangential when I challenged the “bad for the economy” stance with a couple sentences about self-correcting markets.
