So I was accepted with 650 of Federal ACG.
It says confirmed, yet, it still hasn't paid. It's been like half way since the start of semester, and I have no clue when is it gonna pay out.

Did anyone get this grant yet? Did anyone ask the FAO?

How many AP/CC units do you have? If you have over 30 units then you’re considered a sophomore and become ineligible to receive the grant. I was offered the same grant but it never paid out so I went to talk to the people at the financial aid office and that’s what they told me.

^^^ This is correct, but if you get a minimum of a 3.0 in your first semester, go back and speak to financial aid. You will be eligible for one semester of the ACG grant for sophomores. The program will stop for next year but you will be eligible for one semester of the sophomore grant.

AH DAM. i thnk they took away my ACG grant, since i have over 30 units. (i took courses at a community college for the last 2 years of high school).

and im ineligible for the sophomore grant, cuz i dont exactly have a GPA, since those units merely transfer with no GPA weight.

No, you won’t be ineligible for the sophomore one. If you get a 3.0 for your first semester at Berkeley, you will be eligible! All is not lost! This same thing happened to my son and I was in email contact with a Betty Wong who told me all about this. He is to let her know if he gets a 3.0, and they will give him the sophomore grant.

Ok so they took out away my freshman grant, and I’m a sophomore now (that’s what matters right? I have junior standing in telebears but my other class level is sophomore). Does that mean if I get over 3.0 I will get a grant for Spring? But sorry, no luck for this semester?

Yes, that is exactly what it means. You will get one semester of the sophomore grant. The program phases out next year, but one semester is better than nothing. :-)
