No, there is not a separate application for the pell and the Stafford loan. These are all federal aid programs, which is the primary reason for FAFSA. (which stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

When you submit FAFSA to your school(s) they will make financial aid offer that will include the federal aid you are eligible for, based on your FAFSA. The pell requires a very low EFC. There may be other things you have to do once you accept a school and their aid offer. For instance Stafford loans require some online counseling and signing a promissory note. The PLUS is a parent loan, though some schools (like NYU) do include it in their financial aid offers.

FAFSA determines your eligibility for Stafford loans and Pell, which are then awarded by the school. You’ll actually have to accept the Stafford, go through the on-line loan counseling, and sign (electronically) the promissory note in order to receive it. Plus loans are for parents, not students, and require a separate application by the parent. Wait until after you have your FA package from the school…the parent loan may not be needed.

Pell grant eligibility is determined by FAFSA EFC. Stafford loans are awarded to folks who complete the FAFSA…if you have financial need your loan could be subsidized.

The Plus loan is NOT determined by the completion of the FAFSA. The PLUS is a PARENT loan and your parents would need to apply for this.
