Federal Work Study award??

Okay guys so I applied to a job in my college which was a fed work study but I hadn’t completed my fafsa at the time being so they changed the funding to school (the college is paying for my services). So I go into awards and I see that theres a 5000$ award for fed work study and it has been accepted which is weird because I dont remember being notified about it or accepting it, is this money mine? Did the school accept it? Or is it a loan because I’ve heard that it’s a grant from google?
Thanks alot

It is money you can earn by working a work study job. They don’t just give you work study money. You have to earn it.

I can’t edit for some reason.

Work study money is not a grant or a loan. Where did you find that on Google?

Some aid is probably auto-accepted in the system, like Pell grant and work study. Loans you usually have to accept.

You get a work study job and work for a certain amount of hours a week, usually around 10 or so, depending on the job. Then you get a paycheck every week or every other week.
You might not be able to earn the whole $5,000, and that award will be divided by term, so $2,500 a semester.

Are you attending this college now? How did you get aid for the semester if you didn’t have the FAFSA submitted before the term started?
