Fee Waiver for international

Hey guys,

I am going to apply to 8 schools, and the sum of money I have to pay is certainly going to make my family's budget even more stringent. My family earns 25000$ in a year, can I qualify for Common App fee waiver? If I check the statement "I can provide a supporting statement from a school official, college access counselor, financial aid officer, or community leader", what will my counselor have to submit? Tax-return, income statement, or maybe a simple letter will do? And what if they decide that supporting documents sent by my counselor are not trustworthy?

I don’t think that there are any common app waivers for int’ls. Likely because there are a gazillion low-income int’ls that would bombard Collegeboard with those requests.

I think that “check the box” thing is for domestic students, not int’ls.

However, if you contact each of your schools and ask if you can have a waiver, then maybe they will provide one if you can provide documentation that you are low income.

To this poster…keep in mind also, there are not waivers for sending the SAT or for sending the CSS Profile…for international students either.
