Fee waiver pending

Is anyone else's fee waiver still pending?

Yep. Give them time.

Yes 10char.

my fee waiver said ‘pending’ until I got my decision.

^ EXACTLY. Mine changed to “waived” about a day before the decision. Don’t worry.

^That’s odd. So we’re not supposed to contact them if our fee waiver says pending for a long time?

i don’t believe so. i never did.

^Alright. Thanks for the response.

Do any of you guys have fee waivers that changed from pending to approved though?

-whew, feel better. Wondering the same thing…it’s been months. Just about to call them.

^Yeah, did anyone’s change status? hmm

My fee waiver says approved now.

So some people get a status change?

My fee waiver still says pending.

^ nope. mine still says pending…since November. lol, I guess what others went through above, it’s not a biggie.

I think the only thing I’d be concerned with is getting a “denied” on the fee waiver with just a day or two until the decisions come out. Do you FedEx the check…or wait and see if you want to bother?

I’m pretty sure they hold your decision until you pay the application fee.

Perhaps. But maybe you’d wait a couple days just to see if they let it through, right? After all, if they waited all that time to get you a fee waiver decision, do you think they’re now going to couple an acceptance letter with the fee waiver denial? I think at that point they’d go ahead and grant the waiver if there’s an acceptance letter going out.

Then there are the people who may have other first choices. They SHOULD wait a few days to see if their first choice comes through. If there’s good news from the first choice college, there’s no point in paying to see other decisions – especially for someone who contends they should be getting a fee waiver.

(I’m just throwing out food for thought…although my genuine, fully serious assumption is that if they haven’t notified you that you need to pay up by, say, March 15…they’re not going to make you pay up. And they’re certainly not going to penalize anyone for paying after the regular deadline if they didn’t give you a decision on your fee waiver request. The lack of a decision is their problem, not the applicant’s.)

Well if you get denied, you get denied, so…

My fee waiver is still pending. Is anyone planning to call? Or did anyone call from last year?

Mine is listed as pending also and I am with QuestBridge so it should be automatically waived.
