umm...hello. i'm international and i asked for fee waivers from hotchkiss, sps, deerfield, berkshire, cate and mercersburg...all of them offered one immediately except cate, which asked for family's income and number of family members. does this affect my chances negatively?

are schools really willing to offer app fee waivers? or does this mean that they're not really seriously considering my application? the fee for internationals cost a lot ($100)....and i'm wondering if this is a common occurence or if it means something.

am i overthinking this??

dont you guys have anything to say?? just tell me what you think....

I tried to write something earlier that didn't sound too blunt or dismissive...and it's hard not to.

If you NEED a fee waiver, you should ask for one because your options are to apply with one or not apply. And if it counts against you to apply with a fee waiver, that's still better odds than not applying, right?

If you DON'T need a fee waiver, then you shouldn't ask for one. In which case the question of whether it prejudices your application is moot.

So, either way, the question you ask is moot or irrelevant. And that means, yes, you are overthinking this because all you need to get to is whether you need the fee waiver or not. Beyond that, just apply and see what happens.
