How do you write one? When you request it from your counselor, what does he write?

I'm pretty sure that you have to have applied for the SAT fee waiver to be able to take advantage of application fee waivers, but check out this link for more info:

i asked my counselor for one- and he gave a sheet, and it said __(name) applying to __ university,..blah blah....

but in some colleges they ask for SAT waiver form from colege board...how does this work?

First you have to be eligible for a fee waiver for your SAT's from the Collegeboard, your guidance counselor should have these forms. You just need to give him/her proof of income. After that, you can request fee waivers for individual schools. They officially only allot you four, but my GC gave me ones for every single one of my schools.

so basically you need to get a SAT or ACT fee waiver before you can get an application waiver?

so if the schools reject your fee waiver, they'll tell you and you just send the check, right?

Yes, I'm pretty sure you need to get an SAT fee waiver.

I've never had the experience of having a waiver rejected (applied to Ivies, Top 25, and a state school), but a friend of mine has had his rejected. It was Kent State and the fee was only $20, though.

The NACAC fee waiver also works, but not the explicit CB ones.

So I can just fill out the NACAC one and don't need to get an SAT one, correct? Thanks.

can someone confirm that: all colleges accept the NACAC fee waiver, and therefore the student does not have to submit the college boards fee waiver form.

Well my dd was given fee waivers for colleges and we didn't ask for them for SAT (should have, though.) She didn't look at them so I don't know anything about it.

NACAC fee waiver works for all the schools?
