Do schools generally give out fee waivers if you visit their school for a campus tour and/or information session?

Sometime you just have to ask for them. They may not be forthcoming with them. Also we always asked for a business card from whomever we talked to. If they don’t have the waivers, you can email them and request it. It usually works.

Some schools will waive their fee if you apply on line. other schools will waive the fee when they send you information about their school.

If your child is eligible for fee-waivers, they gan get 4 college board fee waivers and an unlimited number of fee waivers from the NACAC (you must check to see if all schools take this fee waiver- however my students have had no problem with them).

We found that just emailing the admissions office and asking about it got many automatic waivers. Some schools, however, required the formal College Board waivers. At least one required a letter with financial information to waive the fee.

Also the larger list of other member undergraduate institutions also waive the fee for Venture Scholars if mentioned/noted in application. This plus CB waivers and NACAC make a significant dent in app fees.
