Feedback from Schools?

Yes, EA (&ED) differ from rolling. I was replying to Letsfigureitout's comment on the competition for those rolling auditions in the fact that at the EA auditions the same (competition) holds true (but more so).:o  ;)

Who really knows - what would one do if one hadn't had some earlier auditions and came down with a cold during the later auditions or bad travel weather etc. I believe that one should spread out auditions because you never know.

I definitely agree, Mainstage, that auditions should be spread out. But, I guess it would be a good idea to know how/when each schools make their decisions and schedule around that as much as possible. I made a chart of the schools where my D would audition; and it became this puzzle of fitting their schedule into our schedule. And, there was ALWAYS that worry about getting sick!!! My D was healthy this winter...such a relief!!! At the beginning, I was hoping to schedule auditions early, just in case of illness so there would be time to reschedule. But...there wouldn't have been time to reschedule anyway. Glad that part of the worry is over!

I give audition feedback all the time, but I think the most valuable part of the conversation is usually at the end when we discuss the various options for moving forward. I always make it a point to stress that it is very possible that we just didn't see the auditioners best work. The most talented performers don't nail every audition and we can only give feedback on what we saw that one day at that point in time.

MakTay, you are right on about health. My daughter auditioned for eight schools and had a head cold/sinus condition for four of the eight auditions. She was auditioning late in the game (from mid Jan to March) so she really didn't have the opportunity to reschedule. It should come as no surprise that the results - four declines vs. two acceptances and two wait lists corresponded to when she was physically at her best. In retro spect, we should have started the auditions much earlier.
