Feedback on Endicott College?

Hi there!

Just found some information about Endicott College recently. Step-D loves the Boston area and Endicott seems to be a little less competitive than Boston U and the like. Am thinking this might be a good match for Step-D. Campus looks beautiful!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

bumping with the hope that somebody had heard of this school and has some feedback for me :D

laurendog, I stumbled across Endicott when doing a search for schools that are “experiential”. Doing a google site-limited search like
endicott college site:collegeconfidential.com
will turn up everything mentioning the school here on CC.
For what it’s worth, from my notes (I’ve never visited the school): "Experiential. BFA program with concentration in creative arts therapy. Limited number of majors. Heavily female. Beautiful campus (beaches), nice kids. Must complete four internships to graduate (3 week ones in 1st (winter break) and 2nd year, 1 semester in junior year). 20 miles from Boston, MBTA stop. "

Thanks Slithey! I had never heard of a google site-limited search until now, but it makes so much sense.
The male-female ratio does give me pause.

I appreciate your feedback!

I’m currently a freshman at Endicott. I am planning on transferring out, but that’s NOT to say that it’s not a good school. It’s a great school, it’s just not for everybody. The campus is gorgeous, the professors are great, the class sizes are manageable, and the female/male ratio really isn’t as extravagant as it seems. The school has a very homey environment; for example, the president oftentimes hosts barbecues at his house, etc. With that being said, there isn’t much diversity on campus (in all regards). That’s something that bothers me about the school but I know other people might not have as strong of an opinion about this as I do.

Feel free to ask me any specific questions and I’ll answer to the best of my ability!

Thanks so much for your reply Alyssa! The campus really does look gorgeous.

If I can ask, besides the lack of diversity, what are the main reasons you are transferring? Where are you transferring to? (or hope to transfer to.)

I know that my Step-D is looking for a diverse environment (and her father and I are very interested in a diverse environment for her) so that would already be a major strike against Endicott in all of our eyes.

Anything else you can share about what it is like to be a student there would be helpful. Sounds like you have highlighted many good/interesting things also and I appreciate that as well!

My daughter is a rising junior at Endicott. The male/female ratio is about the same as it is for many LAC’s. It isn’t terribly diverse, but they do have a growing international population. As a parent, I like the fact that it is close enough to 'Boston so that my daughter can get in there to visit friends several times a semester, yet far enough away that it isn’t a constant distraction.

Sail28 - Thanks so much! The close proximity to Boston would be a big plus for my step-daughter as well. Glad to hear that your D is having a good experience!

We have recently found Endicott College also while looking for a small college near Boston. Does anyone have any information on the Political Science program there? Would also love to get any more feedback on the college - what is it like on the weekends (do many students remain on campus)? How are the professors?

Thanks for any information you can provide!

Bumping this thread again.

Would love to get information on the school from a current student. Do you like the school and the professors? Do you get into Boston often? What do students do on the weekends - do they stay on campus or go home for the weekends?

Thanks!

Do they have a facebook page where you pose some questions?
I only know they have a pretty campus with a GORGEOUS location ;)
