So I was thinking of writing about my struggle with confidence (for the UC prompt #2) and how volunteering helped me significantly to overcome it and how I’ve become much happier and my outlook on life ultimately changed. I feel like that’s really cliche, even though it’s genuine for me. YEAH WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK
If it’s genuine for you, go for it! The topic won’t be cliché if it truly is personal enough to you because you’ll have enough unique insight.
ooh ok, thanks! It’s pretty personal because it has to do with my friends/peers at school, but I feel like it could apply to a lot of people 
How exactly could an essay that has to do with your friends and your school apply to a lot of people? Don’t worry about finding an unusual topic because you think it’ll be more impressive – worry about writing an amazing essay that conveys your incredible qualities and ability to think.
That was also one of my ideas! 
as I had issues with being bullied by my friends in the early years and since they were my friends of 5+ years, it wasn’t easy to get away from it.
Go for it! I think it shows your will, that you took leadership to begin volunteering.
