Feedback on Indiana, Rutgers, Pitt

My son is able to walk to all of his classes within ten minutes at IU. However, his classes are mainly music classes, and the music school is not far from his dorm. I am not sure overall if that is true. I know many students try to get dorms in the area closest to where most of their classes will be--the department they are planning to major in. IU does have a huge campus and a bus system, if you need it. However, I think the main academic buildings are fairly close together. You could probably find a map on their website that would help. (I have one around here somewhere, but can't seem to find it at the moment.)

I don't remember getting to classes at IU being much of a problem "back in the day". There can be a good hike between some of the buildings, but it is manageable. Some of the fraternity/sorority houses are a ways from the main academic buildings, but there are regular busses.

Don't think distance to classes is an issue at Pitt due to the small urban campus.

It is only as big an issue as you want to make it at Rutgers. In my whole time at Rutgers I never had a class that was not on the College Avenue campus, althoug I did visit friends on the other campuses, plus see concerts on the green at Livingston.

Cook is an Aggie school, so very specific classes there. Douglas is the women campus for folks who prefer that enviornment. It really is not an issue.
