Has anyone participated in this ? If so, how was it?

I wouldn't know - I was rejected :(

My daughter went last year and absolutely loved it. She had a great time and met not only fellow freshmen but upperclassmen that steered her in the the way of clubs, etc. that she participated in throughout the year. By the way, we bought most of the extensive list that she was sent and didn't need much of it, so if you are going don't spend a small fortune! She was away and I shopped for her, she didn't take some of it and didn't miss it. She packed pretty light. The compass, light, etc. she didn't need and it just took up space in her bag. She only took one towel and that was enough. I think the big things were the bug spray, hat, shoes and water bottle. The crew leaders are very good about being prepared.

Forever Blue...thanks so much for the feedback...my s is going on this trip..it sure sounds like a great trip but is very nice to hear from someone who went... if you think of any other tips regarding this trip please let us know!

PollardPark,
My daughter's away on DukeEngage or she might jog my memory with more info. I also remember that she was led to believe that she could get in her room early as they arrived back from the Outer Banks fairly early, but she had to wait to get her room key until the designated time. We met her and walked around campus for a while. No big problem. Even though I don't know if she had much sleep the last night, she was all revved up for Duke after participating in PWaves!
