I know that AA Pioneer usually sends about 27% of their students to UMich. I'm almost certain that they get bonus points for attending there. A school you left off that sends a lot is Detroit Catholic Central. I think they get bonus points as well

On the old UMich point system you were awarded up to 10 points for what high school you went to. No high school in Michigan got 10 pts. CC and DCD got 6 pts and that's all that I remember. They've done away with the pt system but the school you went to is still an important factor.

Are we looking for % students going to UMich or actual numbers? Because Troy is fairly large and would thus beat some of the smaller schools you've mentioned up there.

(I go to Troy.)

Of course, this is a large public school, so only a certain part of the class could possibly be at the level of UM.

Yeah I do too(whenever they are offered lol! I was just curious because I wouldn't think that someone otherwise, going through the basic American public education system, would know what a tetrahedron is.

BTW, do you know when the first round of the USAMTS starts this year???

Have you gone to things like Math Field Day or Kettering Olympiad? Then we might have met or seen each other. If you were at the MMPC banquet, you may or may not have seen me.

I honestly don't think tetrahedrons are ever mentioned in any US math class... sad.

For USAMTS, go to usamts.org. You have to create an account and such, but the first round problem should be out in early september? Anyway, register now. If you did it last year, you just need to update your grade level. Tons more info in the USAMTS forum of artofproblemsolving.com, which I moderate.
