I feel like I ruined everything. Maybe I'm being too worried, maybe I'm over exageratting. Ok I will admit I probably am. So a little background first I'm a high school sophomore at a private school I'm in all regular classes. Last year I changed schools near the end of the year and this school was way ahead of where I was so I was confused on everything and I was having medical and emotional issues so I was missing a lot of school. Which lead to me failing second semester in three classes, I took summer school got a 100 in algebra 1 and 91 in biology and am going to do geography summer school this summer. Can colleges see that you had to take summer school or do they just see the new grade that you made in summer school as the grade you ended up with? Then this year I got sick for a couple weeks (ER trips, ambulance trips, hospital stay) I'm fine now but I missed a lot of school around 17 days! So I ended up first quarter with 1 A 2C's and the rest B's. my overall GPACT is an 85.45 I don't know what that calculates on a 4.0 scale but I'm guessing it isn't very good. So my questions are do colleges see that you took summer school? Did I just ruin everything so far to get into a good college then into medical school?

Med school admissions won’t look at high school records, other than for a BA/MD or BS/MD program; pay attention to cost for undergrad if you want to attend med school.

you did NOT ruin everything. It’s only sophomore year. If you do better in junior and senior year, it just look like a upward curve, so that’s good. There’s so much more that goes into a college app than just grades, although they are important. And when you’re applying to colleges, send a note along with your grades explaining the madness you experienced as a sophomore.
