Feeling down about going to a community college. Any advice?

Lately I have been feeling super down because I realized that I won’t be able to apply to most universities because I didn’t take 2 years of a language (I’m a senior) plus my grades aren’t stellar (they aren’t horrible but they arent really good). So my only option is a community college. I’ve just been feeling down because some of my friends are going to University visits for sports and getting ready to go off to college and I’m just going to a cc close by. I just feel bad about missing that whole college experience and what not (living in dorms, sports, fraternities, activities etc…) I wish I could go back and redo high school and join honor classes and just try harder. I guess I’m just now waking up and smelling the coffee in a way… does anybody anything positive to say about cc? I want to transfer to a university but I know that’s harder said then done. I feel like I’ve failed one of my biggest dreams, which was like the whole college experience. I really wanted to be on my own after high school but now I feel like I’m going to like delay growing up or something…

I have spent some time on the CC campus near where I live, and have actually been pretty impressed. Really nice campus, good class offerings. CC can be your “do-over” – if you apply yourself diligently, you can transfer to a 4 year college after 2 years.

It’ll be okay buddy. You should still try to look into schools that have less stringent language requirements, there will be some. If you can, try to find a community college in your area that has a guaranteed transfer requirement with a good state school.
