I just got rejected from a leadership class at my school. I wanted it so badly. Man I feel like crap...I wonder if it's possible to get into my dream college without having that extra edge in leadership. Any words of advice, thoughts?

Yes, yes it is. Colleges won’t have to know that you applied and got rejected to it, anyway. Use the time you would have devoted to that class to pursue another hobby or endeavor that will allow you to hone and utilize your leadership skills.

It’s a good life experience, though, because rejection at some point or the other is imminent.

You’re still good. Don’t be too hard on yourself on one small aspect of your application. Join some other club/s if you really feel not having this leadership class will hurt you.

*Well, Wonderboy and Young Nastyman joined forces;
they formed a band the likes of which have never been seen,
and they called themselves Tenacious D. That’s right,

Me! And KG!
That’s me.

We’re now Tenacious D!
Come fly with me, fly!

Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?
Wonderboy, won’t you take me far away from the mucky-muck
Oh!*

@ hiimleila: Aww thanks that makes me feel a lot better. What trips me up though is when my counselor met with me (before I tried out) and I was trying to decide between an easier course and a harder course, she told me something like this: “If you were UCLA, and you had to choose to accept the student with many APs but no leadership, or maybe a few less APs and leadership, which one would you choose?” …and the answer was the second student. Well I never do things merely for college apps, but that made me so much more excited, you know? Wow this turned into a long reply LOL but thank you for the kind words :)

@MonochromeAddict: Yeah, I actually felt depressed for quite some time. But I guess it’ll just make me stronger and God has something better for me in the future Thank you!
