As a junior in highschool, I am often told to do my best and honestly I'm not sure my best will cut it. I have take 3 ap classes and gotten an 88, 90, and 93. I have mostly A's and a few B's. My SAT score was a 1650. I know I will have to retake the exam however I am very upset. I am caught reading people complaining of receiving 2100's. Am I not even in the ballpark of scores? My goal is to get into UNC Chapel Hill however with my given score it is impossible. I plan to become a RN and serve as a combat nurse. Should I be worried about getting into the best of the best in colleges? Or should I focus on my career? HELP!!!!

Try ACT?

Well I tried the ACT already and I am not comfortable with the science portion. However many other aspects were easier.

I recommend you to do ACT since you are JUST uncomfortable with science portion. You can improve the score just by focusing on science portion. I hated SAT…

You want to be an RN so bone up on your science. You’ll have all summer to prep for ACT in the fall. BTW you don’t need a State Flagship to get hired as a nurse.

What were you aiming for originally? What were you having trouble with on the SAT? Do your practice test scores correlate with your actual score? Use this summer wisely whether it’s the ACT or SAT. It’s time to change your studying tactics.

Yeah, you can go to almost any Uni and major in nursing and still get a good nursing job. There is such a demand for nurses people would basically hire someone who spent a week training as one (just kidding)

My mom with an associate’s degree who has been working for almost 30 years has a much higher pay than her newly-minted bachelor’s degree coworkers. Of course the experience plays in there but even with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from any accredited university you will have no trouble becoming an RN
