Feeling like I'm missing something...

So after receiving the acceptance thing, I felt like I was missing something. I only had 3 or 4 pieces of paper/books. 1 with my address, 1 was my acceptance, and 2 were info things on McGill's courses. I feel like there should have been more... someone at my school who also go in said they received like a handwritten acceptance letter or something and some other info...

Or do I have to accept and put down my deposit in order to get more stuff? They kinda left me high and dry. Just said to reply to Minerva.

Thanks.

After getting the decision, how long did it take you to get these materials?

Maybe a week or so... Funny thing is I got sent the big guide book and 2007-2008 info twice.

really? i still haven't gotten mine and my acceptance letter came more than a month ago.
What else are you expecting? I know for my acceptance letter (which was unfortunately not handwritten ^_^ ), it told me that there're a few things that're on the way. But then again it had that annoying "if these materials apply to you" thing at the end. Just today I got an email saying that the materials that were listed are on the way so... i guess give it some time?

Hmm... I don't think my letter said that they were sending things my way, though maybe for you they mean the guide book and course book?

yea, the guide book, pre-depart guide (coz i'm an international), and the calendar (which is i guess the course book). What else are you expecting?

I got my acceptance letter, Welcome book (the one with the kids on the stairs) and the Calendar/Coursebook. Were we supposed to get anything else?

I've read somewhere that we receive 3 acceptance letters to obtain our Visas and pass through customs. Maybe I'm wrong...

Yes, I got 3 acceptance letters, 1 for us, 1 for inmigration canada and 1 for inmigration quebec. Hey, I am an international and I only received the predeparture guide and the acceptance letters, but I didnt received the calendar or the welcome guide...should I contact them about this?

I think it's all online. Mostly the calendar is graduation requirements for certain degrees and a course guide (And it's about 500 pages - The McGill University Bible). I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Although, if your passport is not renewed, get to it now! You need a valid passport to travel to Canada starting in about two months (They pushed it back again) if you fly in, and a slew of other things if you drive. That, and Immigration Canada and Immigration Quebec require valid passports. If you get to it now and get all the forms turned in by the end of April, you might get your renewed passport back by the end of June.
Also, remember to attach the original acceptance letters to each application when you send them in.

What was the acceptance letter like, because I'm not sure if I got one- I'm a US student with Canadian citizenship, so I'm guessing I only need 1 letter for Immigration Quebec? I just got a letter with my name and some other info and my Faculty- Is that letter? Maybe I got it wrong. It was typed up- nothing fancy or hand written.

Plus, does anyone here have Canadian citizenship and is a US student?

Er.....you really don't need your letter of admission for anyone. Despite what some people think, all Canadians have an unrestricted right to live in Quebec, they don't need to go through immigration or anything.

As to the format of the letter, I'm guessing what you got was about it. My letter of acceptance from Concordia (they're basically the same thing with regards to format) was just a typed thing on stationary (which looked like someone had wet it and then taken a hot iron to it, by the way) with a few papers attached about the specifics.

Hey, I'm a Canadian citizen at a US school. We called McGill, and all they wanted was a copy of my citizenship card. We sent them my Social Insurance Number, a copy of my citizenship card, and my birth certificate, and they said it was fine.

If you've never lived in Canada before, you might want to see if you're applicable for Quebec tuition--more forms, but a lot cheaper! :-)
