Feeling like I'm really late, but at the same time I'm not

It's October 10th.

I'm applying to 1 school, one Early Decision, and a max of 1 school Early Action(not 100% sure).

I have only drafted my CommonApp essay, haven't started my personal statement, and haven't started any other supplemental essays.

Why do I feel like everyone else is so far ahead in the game? At the same time I feel like people always say essays are so hard but I don't even think there are that many. My Early Decision school only has one supplemental essay(Why X?), no short answers.

So am I really behind, or am I unnecessarily worrying?

Wait, you said you drafted Common App essay but haven’t stared personal statement.

What’s the difference?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think personal statements are school specific. This is a MIT personal statement [Personal Statement ·¶Àý - MIT - ¸öÈ˳ÂÊöµÄÈÕÖ¾ - ÍøÒײ©¿Í](http://miyamiyami.blog.163.com/blog/static/127118469200982785344506/)
and it includes MIT’s name so I’m assuming that personal statements are different for each school.

OP: It all depends on your pace, but if you’re applying ED, it’s best to have both rough drafts completed. Writing a RD for your personal statement will probably take a day and polishing it will probably take a few weeks to a few months.

Even if you’ve finished with all your essays, you’d still be worrying whether you’re behind than others or not. So if I were you, I’d start developing essays for ED.
Good luck to everyone!

Dude!! what are you doing here!!! get back to your essay!..
Stop worrying about everyone else.

Good luck!!!
