Feeling Unprepared for College

So I've been applying to
schools and I've already been accepted to two great programs: Point Park and Marymount Manhattan. I'm getting nervous that I don't have enough experience. I've been taking classes since seventh grade but started doing shows in 9th grade. I haven't done that many shows, only 2-3 per year and have only had 2 major roles. The rest have all been ensemble. I've actually done no straight theatre, only musicals. However, I applied to straight acting programs. I'm nervous that compared to everyone else, I will get to school and be way behind. I know that I'm ready for college because I've done a full year pre college program that was everyday and loved it. In classroom training, I am prepared but when it comes to performance, I feel as though I'm lacking.

If they accepted you, they see your potential.
Freshman are fresh. Many have little experience, that is why you are going to school.
Stay humble and open and learn…

Missj212, I’m sure there will be some people in whichever program you choose who have as little experience as you…or less.

Congratulations on your acceptances. I don’t think you need to worry one bit. College programs start out with the same basic building blocks of training for everyone and don’t assume prior training…just trainability. I’m sure you’ll do great.
