<p>i dl'd a program... when i went to run the file, it came up with a dos window... which prompted me to close the window... and delete the file... when i tried to delete it wouldn't let me, i had to end the process which it started, and then delete... i did a scan of my computer and deleted all spyware/adware... any experience with this kind of thing and if so... what is it?</p>

<p>it's an install file for er... nhl 2k5.exe... it comes up with nothing in the dos prompt, and the game should be run through windows... scanned my computer no viruses... lotsa adware and spyware... removed those... could it be a hidden trojan?</p>

<p>The first thing to try for an undeleteable file is to download WhoLockMe (<a href="http://www.dr-hoiby.com/WhoLockMe/%5B/url%5D">http://www.dr-hoiby.com/WhoLockMe/</a>) and see what process is locking it.</p>
<p>oh no i uninstalled it... ended about 12 processes in the process (no pun intended) but i did delete it, didn't cause any further problems... i figured it out afterward that it was a trojan that messes with ur media... when my wmp kept locking up... rebooted in safe mode did a virus scan and fixed the problem</p>
