Fellowships for Yale summer programs abroad?

I’d appreciate any thoughts or experience on how available fellowships etc. are for Yale summer programs abroad.

From what I can tell on the summer programs website (link below) it seems like funding is mainly for students receiving financial aid and that for others these programs are most likely going to be full pay . . . does that sound right from what you’ve seen?

Yes. Scholarships for Yale Summer Abroad Programs are based upon financial need. Student’s not on financial aid are expected to pay full-fare.See: http://www.yale.edu/yalecollege/international/funding/isa/index.html

Thanks gibby. It does look like the ISA funding is need-based and that seems to be most of what’s available. One of the sites mentions merit-based fellowships as well but it sounds like there are not very many of those.

As a separate thing, my DD who just graduated, was paid every summer (2x by yale, one time by an outside institution) to do science research. Always plenty enough for living expenses with some left over. She was a STEM student; not sure of the opportunities outside STEM.
