Fellowships/Scholarships?

Does anyone know of any fellowships or scholarships that will pay for full tuition or a large portion of it in return for work/research?

I saw the SMART Fellowship, but that looks like it is extremely difficult to win. I also know of ROTC, but I do NOT want to go into the military. Are there any other popular ones that are easier to obtain?

I am majoring in electrical engineering, by the way, and I am trying to go to the University of Rochester, but it will cause me to take out $20k/year in loans. I am in need of any options to make it more affordable for me.

Sorry for double-posting, but this has been on my mind a lot lately… I just want to bump it to see if I can get anything before I choose somewhere else.

If such an alternative was available, ROTC would have no recruits.

These are paid internships which can help not only with paying for college but for getting a job later (the second one especially, as it pays basically a full salary):

This one gives you tuition, books, fees, and a stipend for room and board (not sure what majors this includes though):

Hope this helps! :D

While this information is helpful, I think the OP was looking to get far more money than these provide.

I don’t think anyone’s going to find more than that. The first one pays a salary, the second one pays $30,000 - $42,000, not sure what the third one pays, and the fourth pays tuition, books, fees and $12,000 for room and board.
