My friends and I got into a very interesting discussion earlier about whether or not people respond better to teachers of a certain gender. Of course, there will always be exceptions but surprisingly, we found that many had preferences.

Your thoughts on this subject?

In middle school and HS a lot of the male teachers were either like "WHY AM I HERE" or really old, or a combination of the two. The female teachers were more "passionate" and worked harder at their jobs.

University professors are all at about the same level regardless of gender. I can honestly say I don't have a preference.

Although they say the male brain is programmed to ignore things that women say.

i have always found male teachers to be more qualified

and yet they're quite lazy

The male teachers are either funny, dry, or weird. Female teachers are almost all very mother-like. I prefer funny male teachers, but female teachers over dry or weirdr male teachers.

I love female teachers. They are just always so much better, and they are defiantly all motherly, which is great.

I don't have a preference. I'm lucky enough to go to a school where almost all of the teachers are good, regardless of gender.

male teachers that push the concept of seriousness are terrible
female teachers that try to be overly funny fail
